History
Like other North American flavored schnapps, peach schnapps loosely uses the German word without the original strong, dry style, instead producing a sweet, low-to-moderate proof peach-flavored liqueur. It became a fixture of casual bar culture from the 1980s onward, most famously as a component of the Sex on the Beach and Fuzzy Navel, riding the same broad wave of flavored-schnapps popularity as its fellow shooter-culture spirits.
