🥃 Serve in: Old-Fashioned Glass
Mint gets muddled right into the glass with sugar and soda water, then gin, orange, and a cherry go in on top -- basically a gin-based Mint Julep that decided it wanted some fizz. The Smash format goes back to the mid-1800s, making it one of the oldest cocktail styles still recognized by name in American bars. Herbal, refreshing, and built for summer.
Muddle sugar with carbonated water and mint sprigs in an old-fashioned glass. Add gin and 1 ice cube. Stir, add the orange slice and the cherry, and serve.
