Maple Old Fashioned

Bourbon and rye split the base here, with real maple syrup standing in for sugar and orange bitters and a touch of saline solution finishing it off -- an autumnal twist on the classic Old Fashioned. That maple gives it a deeper, earthier sweetness than a standard sugar-based Old Fashioned. Stirred and served over a large rock, a great cold-weather variation on the classic. A favorite for fall and winter sipping.
Ingredients
- Bourbon1.75 oz
- Rye Whiskey0.5 oz
- Maple Syrup0.5 oz
- Orange Bitters1 dash
- Saline Solution3 drop
Instructions
Stir all ingredients with ice, then strain into an ice-filled glass, preferably over a large ice cube. Express an orange twist over the drink and use as garnish.
