Fluffy Duck cocktail in a Collins Glass

Fluffy Duck

Gin Cocktail Alcoholic Bear Recipe

🥃 Serve in: Collins Glass

A playfully retro gin cocktail that blends advocaat's eggy, custard-like sweetness with triple sec and orange juice, then gets topped with soda water for a light, frothy finish. It debuted in 1971 at Cauldron Bubbles, a restaurant in Darlinghurst, Sydney, whose newspaper ad boasted of having "perfected a beautiful cocktail." The Fluffy Duck took off through the disco-era '70s and '80s as bars leaned into sweet, colorful drinks, and it remains a nostalgic favorite Down Under — Difford's Guide ranked it among Australia's most popular cocktails as recently as 2021. Sweet, creamy, and served tall over ice, it's more dessert than nightcap.
