Gin meets lemon juice and sugar syrup here, finished with a dash of Angostura bitters -- essentially a gin-based Old Fashioned sour. Its clean, simple build has made it a staple of contemporary cocktail menus since the 1990s. Those bitters add a layer of spice a standard Gin Sour lacks. Shaken and served over ice in a rocks glass.

- Lemon Juice0.75 oz
- Simple Syrup0.5 oz
- Bitters3 dash
Instructions
Shake all ingredients with ice, then strain into an ice-filled glass. Garnish with a lemon wheel.
