🥃 Serve in: Rocks Glass
The classic 19th-century absinthe ritual, done properly here: a slotted spoon holding a sugar cube balanced over a glass of absinthe, with ice water dripped slowly through until the drink louches into a cloudy pale green. That slow drip is the whole show -- it dilutes the famously strong spirit while releasing its herbal aromatics gradually. Sweetened just enough to soften absinthe's bracing anise and wormwood bite, it's more ceremony than cocktail. A favorite for anyone curious how absinthe was traditionally served before it became a shot or a rinse.
Pour the absinthe into the glass. Rest a sugar cube on a slotted spoon across the rim and slowly drip ice-cold water over it until it dissolves and the drink turns cloudy. Add ice, stir, and serve.
