Martini cocktail in a Cocktail Glass

Martini

Gin Cocktail Alcoholic IBA: Unforgettables

🥃 Serve in: Cocktail Glass

Gin and dry vermouth, stirred (or shaken, if you insist on doing it Bond's way) and served ice-cold in the glass that's basically become shorthand for the whole idea of a cocktail. Nobody agrees on where it actually started -- 19th-century New York and San Francisco both claim it -- and the ratio's only gotten drier as the decades have passed. Whether it lands with an olive or a lemon twist, it's less a fixed recipe at this point than a personal statement.
