🥃 Serve in: Highball Glass
A creamy, tropical build that layers white rum and vodka with the vanilla-and-anise lift of Galliano, rounded out by coconut cream, heavy cream, and pineapple juice, with a splash of orange juice for brightness. It's a Charles Schumann creation from 1980s Germany, one of a handful of Piña Colada riffs he devised while fighting to keep bar culture inventive during a lean stretch for German cocktail culture. The two full spirits all but vanish behind the fruit and cream, making it dangerously easy to drink for something this boozy — one writer's described it as a Piña Colada and a Harvey Wallbanger getting friendly. Sweet, rich, and best served over crushed ice, it's a vacation-in-a-glass sipper that rewards a heavy hand with the shaker.
Fill a shaker two-thirds with ice. Add all the ingredients and shake until chilled. Strain into a highball glass with ice.
