Fino sherry's nutty dryness meets a three-way split of dry, bianco, and sweet vermouth here, finished with a dash of orange bitters -- a genuinely low-alcohol classic from the late 19th century. Popularized at Yokohama's Grand Hotel by a German bartender, it's often credited as an early ancestor of the modern vermouth-forward cocktail movement. Lighter and more delicate than a Martini, it rewards a slow, contemplative sip. A favorite among bartenders reviving pre-Prohibition, lower-proof classics.
Stir all ingredients with ice and fine strain into a chilled coupe. Express an orange zest twist over the drink and use as garnish.
