Apricot brandy's stone-fruit sweetness meets gin, dry vermouth, grenadine, and a touch of lemon juice for a pink, Prohibition-era classic garnished with a cherry. It picked up a reputation as a "ladies' cocktail" back in its day -- a label that says more about the era than the drink, which holds up fine for anyone regardless. A good, easy introduction to apricot brandy as more than just a supporting player.
Rub rim of cocktail glass with lemon juice and dip rim of glass in powdered sugar. Shake all ingredients (except cherry) with ice and strain into sugar-rimmed glass. Top with the cherry and serve.
